Program Practice Leader

Microsoft Consulting Services organization is supporting customers on their Digital Transformation journeys. We are helping every customer become an Intelligence Driven Organization by identifying and executing set of operational improvements, functional innovations and transformational initiatives. As a result, our customers improve their organizational capabilities around Data Management, Applications, Agile Development and Artificial Intelligence, which in turn allow them to redefine their competitive situation and maximize their potential across business KPIs such as Growth, Innovation, Time to Market and Cost Optimization. We are looking for senior Program Leaders who can own and streamline these strategic consulting engagements.

The Program Leader is ultimately responsible for the overall performance of the delivery organization that they lead. The role is highly collaborative, working with customers and Microsoft teams to jointly create exceptional experiences and business value. As the leader of your organization, you will be expected to create clarity in a complex organizational environment, generate energy through a bias towards action, and deliver results from a performance and scorecard standpoint.

Responsibilities

Business Ownership: Program Leaders are accountable for the overall performance of their Programs. They will be the single leader for our large customer programs owning the outcomes and being the C-level trusted advisors for the customer. They play a critical role in aligning Microsoft strategy with customer’s business and functional outcomes and ensuring high quality engagements. This includes developing long term trusted advisor relationships with the customer, growing cloud consumption, and establishing the necessary planning to drive growth and profitability within your practice, accelerate the adoption of advanced support models and solutions, and promoting Microsoft Consulting strategy.

 

Teams and People Management: Program Leaders must be exceptional at building organizational capability, stewarding talent management and succession, and building diverse and inclusive teams. They bring deep understanding of situational leadership, know how to coach managers, and get the best out of each person. Their management style is to approach their team with empathy and humility and to model strong teamwork and collaboration with the goal for teams and individuals to step out of their comfort zone. Program  leaders  execute impeccably on all the basics and ensure that they create a culture of management excellence across their teams.

 

Leadership and stakeholder management: Program Leaders embody the growth mindset - they thrive on challenge, learn from setbacks, and build on the ideas and inspiration of others. They will exemplify a strong orchestration capability in dealing with complexity and ambiguity. They will  manage and orchestrate many critical stakeholders both on the customer side and internally at Microsoft. The role must clearly articulate the Microsoft  mission, goals and strategies to all audiences and help them understand how they play a part in our customers success as One Microsoft in collaboration with different internal units. Demonstration of sound judgement in tough commercial and personnel situations is a must. They will exhibit strong stakeholder management and will impactfully engage within their leadership community to meet business goals and drive change.

Qualifications

 

  • Must have a proven record of delivering the full life cycle of Consulting (strategy, consulting, support) from pre-sales through delivery in organizations of similar size and complexity.
  • History of leading senior delivery leaders with strong people management skills.
  • Candidates must have a deep understanding of markets, customers, and related technology; have the background to provide leadership in the Program and demonstrate effectiveness in consulting and client management.
  • Background in solving large and complex customer issues successfully by collaborating with senior leaders (customer and internal stakeholders).
  • Deep understanding of delivery skills, methods, and tools.
