PURCHASE MANAGER WITH EXPERIENCE IN TECHNICAL PURCHASING AND AN INTEREST IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY

Do you have 2-5 years’ experience in technical purchasing, and do you see yourself working with pharmaceuticals? Are you a natural networker and relations builder and can you handle a process from initial handshake to the final delivery? Then you may be the candidate we are looking for to join a strong team of Purchase Managers whom are based in Copenhagen, but work in the whole of Europe.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Academic Work is on behalf of our client looking for a Purchase Manager for their office in Copenhagen. Academic Work is responsible for the recruitment process but the candidate that proceeds will be employed directly by our client.

JOB DUTIES

As Purchase Manager, you will work on a daily basis with procurement of pharmaceutical goods, with a focus on gaging the time, quantity and quality needed for best efficiency and optimized costs. You will be responsible for managing and executing projects from A to Z and will be responsible for all stages of the process, including initial market research, identification of and communication with suppliers and clients, price-negotiations, order creation etc. You will also:

  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on orders
  • Maintain and enhance supplier- and client-relations, through frequent communication and visits
  • Participate in inspections.

Together with the team, you will work towards maintaining market share and maintain the company standards for excellent service, quality and efficiency. The position suits you who thrives within a highly competitive market and is naturally goal-driven.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have between 2-5 years’ experience within technical purchasing, preferably within foreign trade or the industrial sector. You may have previous titles such as Purchaser, Purchasing Assistant or the like.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English
  • You are proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook

Additional qualifications include:

  • Purchasing experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Fluent proficiency in at least one other language, both written and spoken

As Purchase Manager you will work in the field of pharmaceuticals and a solid understanding of marketing authorizations and European import legislation is thus of great advantage, but not a requirement.

As a person, you are flexible, open-minded and you thrive in a diverse and multicultural environment. You have a strong sense of responsibility, self-regulation and you have strong process-management and organizational skills. You work great in teams and have the ability to step in where needed. You are furthermore a natural networker, and highly communicative as you will experience daily communications with many individuals. You will typically experience daily communication with your fellow Purchase Managers as well as report to the different departments and managers such as the finance-, sales- and production control department, the director of product management, as well as communicate with company suppliers and clients.
