Railway Operations Expert for Ramboll's Signalling Department in Copenhagen

At Ramboll we are working on some of the largest ERTMS signalling programmes. We are passionate about signalling and railway operations, committed to excellence and outstanding performance. Through our projects we are engaged in all aspects and stages of signalling projects, from the development of operational concepts and technology to business change, and organisational transformation. Due to our success, and the general growth in ERTMS projects, we are currently looking for a Railway Operations Expert to support our international projects.

Your responsibilities as Railway Operations Expert

As Railway Operations Expert in Ramboll you will be involved in a wide variety of projects, and you will work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary and international teams, on all phases of a project. You will support and advise clients to better understand and plan key operational and business readiness activities (e.g. change management, training, stakeholder engagement, strategies to the go-live implementation of the new technology). With a focus on Railway operation you will apply your operational experience and knowledge to help plan and design the railway systems for smooth operation of trains and elevate the benefit of projects/programmes.

Your main responsibilities are, but are not be limited to:

  • Provide railway operation expertise for our international projects
  • Build strong client relationships by seeking to anticipate, meet and understand client needs
  • Develop and review operation procedures and regulations
  • Develop and review training and staffing plans
  • Ensure operational and business readiness
  • Facilitate and support change management activities
  • Provide technical overview of the operator’s O&M standards
  • Ensure development and transfer of knowledge and experience to the team

You and your competencies

We imagine you have 10 years’ experience from front line rail operations, rail maintenance and train operations, with a solid understanding of concept of operations and the relation to the signalling systems. You base your work on safety principles, applying your own experience flexibly, valuing human factors and respecting local culture.

As a person you are responsible, systematic and focused on solutions and outcomes. You have proven experience in providing technical expertise in all project stages, and excellent communication skills (written and oral), with proven leadership abilities through working collaboratively with teams, peers and clients. You appreciate working in an informal working environment, where you have a considerable influence on your own working day. The job requires the ability to travel 30-40 days a year.
