Research assistant positions in green business innovation and digitalisation

The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for research assistant positions. The positions are fixed-term appointments. The start date is 1 September 2020, or as agreed upon, and the end date is 30 September 2022.

The position is related to the EU Interreg KASK GREENBIZZ project and CGC AU research projects.

The GREENBIZZ project:

  • Focuses on 1) innovation, integration and interoperability of green business models in different business model ecosystems, 2) dynamic and reconfigurable solutions for discovery and integration of data and value streams from different business models and 3) multi-business model innovation analytics.
  • Provides extensive business model and technology innovation, development and demonstrations with a focus on green business model innovation tools, prototypes and tests.
  • Seeks to deliver high impact through research excellence, multi-business model innovation and technology advancement
  • Addresses green business model challenges and issues in monitoring and security for network-based multi-business model innovation.
  • Offers collaboration with leading Nordic and international universities.
  • Involves collaboration with CGC AU’s global industry and research partners.
  • Provides a wider awareness and third-party exploitation via dissemination and standardisation activities.
Job description
We are looking for candidates who can strengthen our research within green business model innovation and digitalisation. Specific responsibilities include:
  1. Commitment to assisting the academic staff working on the EU Interreg KASK GREENBIZZ project by engaging in research and development.
  2. Collaboration with Nordic start-up and SME businesses, partner organisations and universities on research on multi-business model innovation and renewable energy.
  3. Documentation of processes and interventions in a rigorous manner, ensuring publishable results in a green business model innovation, digitalisation and renewable energy technology context.

Qualification requirements
Applicants for a research assistant position hold a degree or equivalent academic qualifications in business model and technology innovation; however, industry experience can alleviate the need for a specific degree.

Applicants are encouraged to describe how their work is linked to green business model innovation, digitalisation, green energy and big data analytics.

BTECH is part of Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University – a top 100 university. Aarhus BSS – and specifically BTECH – has achieved the distinguished AASCB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditations.

BTECH is located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business and engineering disciplines and pays particular attention to company collaborations. We have around 1,800 students and close to 100 faculty and staff. In 2019, more than 500 students were involved in company projects in more than 250 companies ranging from SMEs to leading multinationals. Our incubator Business Factory launches around 15 new businesses every year.

We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry on the basis of new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by H2020, Independent Research Fund Denmark and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.

The qualification requirement for appointment as research assistant is a Master's degree.

Terms of employment
The appointment is made in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State (in Danish).
