Research Scientist - Food Microbiology and Fermentation - Aarhus

Then join the Food Microbiology Team at the Arla Innovation Centre. We deliver innovative microbial solutions for current and future products and processes to add value to Arla Foods.

Key partner to various innovation projects
You will be a key partner to various innovation projects related to fermentation of dairy. Specifically, you will maintain, build and strengthen expertise/competences on the microorganisms related to the production of fresh dairy and ingredients. You will be a key element in our strategic focus on fermentation by utilising your knowledge within fermentation, microbial physiology and genetics to drive science and innovation from lab scale to pilot plant trials. You will head up and drive various projects with fermentation as the key focus point. Additionally, you will perform ad hoc support to the business solving fermentation related issues. You will achieve success by transforming scientific concepts into business opportunities that bring value to Arla Foods. To ensure that Arla’s business needs are met, you will proactively enable a two-way transfer of knowledge between the organisation and relevant internal and external partners.

Research Scientist with solid Food Microbiology and Fermentation background
You hold at least a MSc in Dairy Science, Microbiology or Microbial Physiology (preferably a PhD) . You have experience from the food industry and have knowledge of related microbiological processes in dairy (e.g. fermentation processes) and cutting edge analytical tools. Moreover, you thrive in an independent role where you use your curiosity and creativity to seek new information to keep developing your area. You also have a structured and analytical approach to your work enabling you to create sustainable results. On top of that, you are good communicator which is necessary for effective stakeholder engagement, in particular in the Academia/Industry interface, but also within Arla Foods markets/business units.
