RESIDENT ENGINEER - GERMANY

THE POSITION

Vald. Birn A/S molds, processes, finishes and assembles high-quality items to the automotive industry among others. As a Resident Engineer, you will have a leading position as a technical design and method engineer at our customers, referring to the PTA manager in Holstebro, Denmark.

Your workplace will be placed as central as possible in regards to the customers in Germany. With the Group's increased global growth strategy, we aim to support the customer with the design and specification of cast iron products from the development phase, minimizing costs and making lead time for implementation as short as possible.

You will be an important part of the advisory on optimal design and participate in the drafting of the final agreement on molding, machining, surface treatment and assembly. This for the purpose of later production of cast iron items in one or more of the Group companies.

You must expect some work-related travel activities to customers and group companies in Denmark as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise design of molded, machined and surface treated items
  • Participate in the development process of new topics with customers in collaboration with Vald. Birn's other PTA employees and sales department.
  • Simulate casting process for optimal design in MAGMAsoft
  • Communicate customer needs in Vald. Birn's organization and provide relevant feedback to the customer in the form of design proposals and specifications
  • Complete the design of the production equipment and prepare specifications for internal or external manufacturing.
  • Identify and communicate potential opportunities for foundry technical solutions with our customers

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND

You have a relevant foundry technical background preferably as an engineer or you have in-depth experience with design and/or machining of cast iron. You master English writing and speaking at the technical level.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3D CAD (Catia or similar), MAGMAsoft and Microsoft office
  • Flair for technical communication, dissemination of technical advice and foundry technical benefits

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Since you will have a variety of external and internal contact in the position, it is important that you are an excellent communicator, written and oral.

You are structured, persistent and solution-oriented in your approach to assignments so that you consider all options and present the most optimal solution to the customer.

You show a steadfast but as well a flexible approach to your surroundings, and enjoys being part of a team with highly skilled and motivated colleagues who values a competent and professional sparring.
