Sales Engineer

We are offering an exciting position for someone who is thrilled by the opportunity to work in the link between engineering and sales. You will play a key role in identifying and highlighting the gaps between customers’ requirements and our technical solutions.

If you would like to be on board, you will join our Engineering & Design team in Silkeborg. Our E&D team acts as a central function to the organization, being the one point of contact from Sales towards the entire organization. As our Sales Engineer, you will be working closely with Sales and other internal departments during quotation, project execution, and the service phase. This role is therefore a great fit for someone who enjoys working with multiple stakeholders and creates value by collaborating with colleagues.

 

Define high-level technical solutions based on customer needs and requirements.

The purpose of this role is to increase the availability of E&D resources for our salespeople. As our Sales Engineer, you will support on technical clarification and cost estimates in the quotation phase to ensure that we are able to design and deliver the solutions proposed to customers.

You will have full responsibility for describing the technical aspect of offers, identify our scope of works, risks and areas that require attention for clarification prior to project execution, and make the necessary technical drawings.

We expect you to achieve success in this role by applying strong communication skills, being good at aligning expectations, collaboration with your colleagues across departments, and by providing the impression of a highly professional and competent organization when faced with external stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities as our Sales Engineer will be to

  • attend sales meetings and support with technical knowledge
  • identify and define technical dependencies and boundaries
  • handle budgetary estimates for projects
  • define and review the technical scope of works
  • conduct technical clarifications within the organization (across departments)
  • carry out the technical documentation for projects
  • assist sales in handover to project management according to our Stage-Gate model
  • optimize and improve internal working processes together with the team

 

We are looking for a strong technical profile with a commercial mindset.

The person who fits this key position needs to be technically strong, project management experienced, commercially skilled, and strong in managing internal and external stakeholders. We imagine that you are an electrical engineer, marine engineer, SCADA specialist, or something similar, with +4 years of relevant occupational experience within engineering of technical projects. Ideally, you have direct experience working with sales from an international and project-based organization.

Most importantly, you easily understand complex technical issues and are able to convert these into solutions and communicate them to the customers in a meaningful way. Candidates who possess a high level of technical know-how and strong skills in understanding SCADA challenges and solutions on Wind plant level will be considered to have an additional advantage.

It is essential that you have an international mindset and that you thrive in working with different cultures, having the necessary flexibility to adapt to situations and circumstances when necessary.
