Scientific Computer Supporter and System Manager at Stellar Astrophysics Centre (SAC) (962442)

The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Stellar Astrophysics Centre (SAC) at Aarhus University invite applications for a 4 year position (01.04.2018 – 31.03.2022) at 30 hours per week as Scientific Computer Supporter and System Manager. 
 
The position involves general computer support, particularly concerning Linux installations, to the SAC group (http://sac.au.dk), and development and maintenance of system organization and software for the SONG telescope network (http://song.au.dk) and the KASOC (http://kasoc.phys.au.dk) and TASOC (https://tasoc.dk) data archives. Concerning the latter, some emphasis is given to establishing suitable documentation, to secure the ability for long-term maintenance of the systems, and to the interaction with the AU computer staff. The successful candidates will also work on supporting the Aarhus University Satellite Project; Delphini-1 (http://ausat.au.dk). 
 
Candidates must have a degree in computer science or experience at a similar level and experience in working in a team where support of research activities is the main focus. 
 
The starting date is 1 April 2018. The duration of the position is 4 years (end date: 31.03.2022) at 30 hours per week. The position might be extended after 31 March 2022 if the centre continues after 31 March 2022. 
 
The place of work is Ny Munkegade 120, 8000 Aarhus and the area of employment is Aarhus University with related departments.
