Section Leader for IT Operations

You will be tasked with building and leading a team of around six highly qualified technical specialists with expertise in operating supercomputers for research into Precision Medicine. You will be responsible for the daily operation of the HPC system, ensuring it runs smoothly and effectively. You will also be a key player in growing a network with external stakeholders and acting as an ambassador for the Danish National Genome Center and its mission.

Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
• Lead a team of technical specialists, inspiring them and motivating them while ensuring they meet requirements and work succesfully together. This includes being directly involved in the hiring process.
• Coordinate the daily operations of the supercomputer, working in close cooperation with the Operations Manager to initiate and lead capacity or upgrade projects on infrastructure components.
• Develop the infrastructure of the department, ensuring it grows with the organisation as a whole.
• Create and develop a network within the universities, hospitals and wider genomics research field, acting as an ambassador for the organisation. This could involve attending conferences and events to further the DNGC’s message but also to gain new insights into the industry.
• Manage the relationships between external and internal stakeholders, including translating complex technical information into commercial and usable insight for healthcare professionals and vice versa.



Professional Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
• Extensive experience and proven success working within IT Operations and managing a complex IT setup. This includes designing and developing infrastructure solutions that span HPC, networks, servers, storage, and users.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, managing key relationships and building relevant networks.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in both Danish and English.
• Passion for HPC Systems and interest in the development of new technologies, trends, processes and best practices.
• Prior team management experience would be highly advantageous though not essential.
