Senior Chemist or Senior Chemical Engineer to pilot plant manufacture in MSAT API

To a newly established position in Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT), we are seeking a manufacturing chemist or chemical engineer having a strong background within process chemistry, chemical manufacture and chemical unit operations. You will be working with development of new synthetic procedures for manufacture of API´s and manufacturing of API’s for clinical studies.


About the department

MSAT API Pilot Plant is a department consisting of 11 dedicated employees. We are responsible for all API activities in relation to LEO’s development portfolio after Proof of Concept (PoC). The department functions as a connection between R&D and Global Product Supply (production) and our job is to ensure that we develop processes which can supply API via scalable, safe and robust processes. Our mind-set is flexible and proactive.


A position with a broad selection of tasks

Your responsibilities will cover:

  • Daily operation of our pilot plant facility including our SRO-system
  • Maintenance and house-keeping of our facility
  • Manufacture of API´s supporting LEO Pharma’s R&D portfolio
  • Supervision of processes and documentation
  • Bringing process chemistry from laboratory scale into pilot plant operation


Your profile

You have experience within process chemistry from both laboratory and manufacture at scale from a pilot plant facility. You are a responsible and motivated team player having a GMP mind-set and you enjoy working most of your time in the Pilot Plant solving practical challenges and you are capable of coming up with ideas for improvement of our working procedures. Preferably you have knowledge from the pharmaceutical industry from a similar position. Further you possess:

  • A Master in chemical engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • The flexibility of being a team player and working on your own
  • A proactive, structured person with a flexible mind-set
  • A proven track record within process development, process scale up and GMP manufacture
  • A practical hands-on approach to organic chemistry and process chemistry
  • A proactive, and GMP-minded attitude to work tasks
  • Excellent co-operation and communication skills
