Senior Data Privacy Officer

Do you want personal impact on LEO Pharma’s GDPR framework and systems?

If you bring legal education backed by well-founded data privacy experience, and you are looking for a job where your efforts can set the direction for a successful and growing company, you have found it. At LEO Pharma, we are ready to take the global implementation of a data protection program to the next level. You will drive this business critical operation together with the Head of Department and a Data Protection Specialist. You will be trusted to influence and assess all aspects, including optimization of the overall framework.

Management of governance framework and advice to the business

In this job, you will unfold your skills on two parallel and connected tracks: One is to optimize the overall framework of policies and Standard Operational Procedures, including ongoing updates according to new precedent sentences and legislation. The other is to act as advisor to the business on implementation and specific cases. Related to this, you will actively position the Legal department as strategic advisor – illuminate the value we can add if used the right way. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • advise internally on data privacy matters and support business areas
  • proactively set global policies for personal data protection across all business areas in LEO Pharma
  • provide training and create awareness and understanding of personal data protection in LEO Pharma
  • act as a global process owner and ensure an adequate global governance framework for protection of personal data
  • monitor compliance with relevant personal data legislation – together with your data protection colleague
  • act as global process owner for breach management in LEO Pharma – together with your data protection colleague
  • contribute to management of the data focal point network across the global organization
  • contribute to the choice and implementation of the right systems and handle ongoing dialogue with suppliers

You will work closely together with a Data Protection Specialist, and founded on your common skillsets and experience you will both contribute to shaping your roles and specific tasks. You will be based at the LEO Pharma HQ in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen. Travel activities are very limited, expectedly approx. 5-10 days per year.

Law degree and 5+ years’ hands-on experience from working with data privacy

We are looking for a profile with the legal overview, knowledge and communication skills needed for being a trusted advisor – and not to forget a structured work approach. As you will be trusted with responsibility and freedom to perform, you must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with diligence. As such, people know you for your ability to make things happen without compromising on quality. As part of this, you know when to ask for support and guidance in order to keep things in motion (we do not expect you to know everything).

To succeed, it is also of vital importance that you can make the organization understand the importance of – and as part of this translate legal language into messages that make sense to people without legal competencies. Additionally, your CV comprises:

  • A law degree at Master’s level
  • Minimum several years’ hands-on experience from working with data privacy
  • Solid experience within development and implementation of policies
  • Solid understanding of corporate governance and compliance
  • The ability to proactively drive change and thrive in an organization in transformation

Corporate and Pharma Legal – Your new team

You will join a team of 6 skilled and dedicated legal experts. We are part of Global Legal, counting approx. 30 legal specialists in total. You can look forward to being part of a very well functioning team. Mutual coaching, knowledge sharing, support and helpfulness are all natural parts of our everyday team life – just as our shared belief in that it has to be fun to go to work if you want to make great results.
