Senior HSE Manager, Service - Flexible Location

Play a significant part in developing and driving our global HSE strategy

Are you an experienced HSE professional ready to lead and develop MHI Vestas’ global HSE strategy? Do you have great interpersonal skills enabling you to manage and motivate an international team located at different sites? Can you influence and motivate your colleagues to put safety first in everything that they do?

We are looking for a new Senior HSE Manager to lead our HSE Managers focusing on our Service and Special Projects departments. You will be in charge of an international team of HSE Managers which is expected to include sites in Asia and the USA in the near future. 

 

Tasks & responsibilities: You will…

…set clear global safety objectives/targets for Service and Special Projects and be a strong, visible leader representing and implementing our corporate HSE strategy. As the Senior HSE Manager, you will develop, implement and drive the global HSE strategy and ensure that it is aligned with the business strategy and corporate strategic objectives. MHI Vestas has many different service and special projects sites, and it will be your responsibility to ensure consistency of HSE support throughout the sites and provide HSE information and guidance to all levels of the company. 

You will also be responsible for: 

  • Setting up a “fit-for-purpose” Service HSE organisation
  • New Market entry support
  • Actively manage, develop and coach the HSE Managers
  • Support major Incident Investigations
  • Review and revise HSE documentation where required
  • Follow up on site audits
  • Highlight adverse safety trends and ensure adequate safety campaigns are implemented
  • Participate in industry body meetings, seminars and training sessions to increase industry and legislative awareness
  • Regular visits to sites
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services
  • Responses to client concerns regarding HSE matters
  • Act as an ambassador for MHI Vestas

 

Skills & experience: Our new colleague…

…has at least 10 years of experience working as a safety professional combined with management experience. You have excellent knowledge of HSE and maritime legislation as well as experience with managing internal and external stakeholders. You will join an HSE department facing expansion to new markets, so it is important that you have an international mind-set and great analytical skills enabling you to foresee needs, regulations and requirements in different markets. 

As a person, you can motivate and inspire a team, and you have great interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others without having line authority. 

We expect that you: 

  • Are a flexible and motivated team player
  • Have a structured and systematic approach to your tasks
  • Have good presentation skills
  • Have good English skills, written and spoken
  • Have a full driver’s license
