Senior Manager - Head of Biopharmaceutical Processes

To meet the requirements of an increasing pipeline of biologics projects we are now expanding in the CMC biologics area both in terms of capabilities and capacity. This is why we need you!

The job

Biopharmaceutical Processes is one of two departments (the other one is Biopharmaceutical Products) within LEO focusing on the CMC development of biologics. The departments were started in 2017 and since then there has been a strong focus on building biologics CMC capabilities within LEO to support a growing pipeline on monoclonal antibodies.

As Senior Manager of Biopharmaceutical Products, you will head up a growing department, currently constituted of 7 highly skilled and experienced upstream and downstream Scientists and Technicians, all with the focus on developing biologics products from discovery to launch. All projects are run as external partnerships with extensive CDMO/CRO collaborations. The department is responsible for all bio process activities throughout the full development value chain for monoclonal antibodies including; cell line selection and development, DS process development and DS productions and M3 module documentation. The work is constituted by a mix of work performed at CDMO´s and internal experimental activities.

You will join a leadership team (Biologics & Early Development, B&ED) with three Sr. Manager colleagues and report directly to the Senior Director of B&ED. You will also be part of the extended leadership team for the larger CMC organisation, CMC Design and Development, and for R&D.

You are also expected to develop the department processes, secure transparency and optimal resource prioritisation, as well as collaborate proactively in the leadership team and in cross-organisational assignments to create long lasting results for the organisation.

You use your personal impact and pro-active can-do attitude to drive for lasting results and make the team win. You are an excellent collaborator and communicator and have the ability to motivate others. You are seen by others as a person with great potential.

You have:

  • A university degree within natural sciences
  • A few years of managerial experience and several years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong leadership focus and a track record of developing organizations and people
  • Extensive experience from working with biologics and preferable monoclonal antibodies
  • Experience from working with external partners and CRO´s/CDMO´s
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience from working in cross functional teams and matrix organizations
  • Personal drive for results, a strategic mindset and an impactful behavior that creates follow-ship
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
