SOA Innovation Officer, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark
We are searching for an ambitious SOA innovation officer who will function as business developer and executive assistant to the innovation council (IC). The IC include Novozymes COO, Novozymes CSO, a senior sales executive as well as senior representatives from the external venture capital environment. The IC oversees the SOAs, which are new strategic research and business areas run in a Venture Capital like environment where ventures run in teams with milestone-based approaches and quick turnaround. Current activities revolve around two areas namely human health and alternative protein sources (non-meat based) for food.

As Innovation Officer you will facilitate the identification of new SOA candidates. You will build a strong network into several parts of the Novozymes organization including the larger research organization, business development, M&A etc. and potentially with partners outside the organization as well. Through strong business acumen you ensure candidates for new ventures are properly described and ensures stress testing of analyses before they are presented to the IC. You support the CSO in making sure the broader organization is continuously developing and qualifying candidates for SOAs.

Serving as executive assistant and secretary on the IC, you will analyze and illustrate the current SOA portfolio and update portfolio dashboards regularly for timely information access. You will collect relevant information and ensure all materials going to the IC are clear and readily digestible and you will facilitate review meetings with the council. You will follow up on meetings and keep track of decisions and agreed milestones.

Finally, there will also be some ad hoc support to SOA Heads and the IC in terms of planning meetings, calls, agendas etc. The position is at manager level.

In this position you need to have:

  • At least a MSc degree in business/finance/science and some years of work experience within business development, venture capital, strategy, project management or similar
  • An ability to deliver results independently and to drive deliveries from others through strong stakeholder management, networking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and business understanding with experience in methodologies for business development and opportunity assessment, and be a proficient user of necessary digital tools
  • Strong communication skills, written, orally and within presentation development, and complete fluency in English
  • The ability to thrive in a chaotic, fast changing environment with an international outlook
  • Experience from a venture or innovation environment is a plus
  • An open and service minded approach
