Specialist in Machine Control

Are you motivated by working with the combination of software technologies, PLC programming and controlling large machinery? Then you may be one of our future developers joining FLSmidth’s Process Control and Optimization Department in Valby, Copenhagen. We are working intensively with developing world-leading solutions related to the main machinery in the cement and minerals industry. Here, you will join an innovative project environment with a constant flow of technical, cultural and interpersonal challenges – and you will get to collaborate worldwide across the organisation as well as with external customers and suppliers. As our new colleague, you will contribute to the innovative environment where our objective is to deliver productivity enhancement to our clients through value added, smart and competitive suite of software products.

 

Detailed Description

Take our suite of successful software products into the future

In close cooperation with your colleagues, you will develop advanced software applications and make them ready for the future including but not limited to; Industry 4.0, wireless connections, digitalization and integration to cloud. You will be involved in all phases – including analysis, design, programming and final testing:

·   You will play a key role in communicating to our internal stakeholders to identify and understand requirements

·   You will transfer the understanding to an efficient design in cooperation with other software developers and mechanical or electrical specialists, and implement the solution based on Agile planning framework

·   Manage small projects with internal or external resources

·   As a part of your team, you will also join the test process of the software, all the way from unit testing to live operation on site

·   You will work in an international environment with highly motivated and dedicated colleagues in a job which you will have the opportunity to influence greatly 

 

Job Requirements

Team player with a passion of control techniques

You have an engineering background of 5-10 years of experience within software/electronic/process field. You have strong competencies in PLC programming and possibly in some of the following areas:

·   Soft PLC's

·   Industrial standards

·   Condition monitoring

·   Machine learning

·   Practical programming experience in Microsoft or other programming languages

·   Wireless instrumentation

 

On the personal level, you are known for your solution-oriented approach to your tasks, and you thrive on being part of a team, as well as going across teams where you can unfold your innovative ideas. Last but not least, you must have solid communication skills and a high level of English proficiency with the desire/availability to travel internationally up to 20% of your time.
