Plant Hybrid Modelling & Analytics, part of Vestas Power Solutions, is responsible for the products and services related to Vestas Plant Data Offerings. We have a strong and diverse team that consists of everything from Meteorologists and CFD Specialists to BI developers, Data engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. This ranges across real-time data collection from thousands of power plants, data storage, and data analytics on a combined Data warehouse and High-Performance Computing setup supporting multiple data applications for our customers. The goal is to bring down the cost of energy by leveraging the vast amount of data that Vestas collects and stores from power plants around the globe.


You need to be able to understand and address the mathematical modeling methods used Plant Data area and suggest alternatives from the Machine Learning world. You need to understand how to build robust software solutions that can be used in a production environment delivering data to customers all over the world.
Your primary responsibilities will cover:

  • Work with large, complex data sets and develop robust and scalable code to analyse it
  • Perform technical design, requirements analyses, and documentation in collaboration with the business
  • Design and build robust, maintainable solutions on Cloud or on our professional quality computing system


  • Relevant Masters' or Ph.D. degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
  • Work experience where data analytics was a major component of your work
  • Experience automating software deployments and following a continuous delivery and deployment model (Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with mathematical modeling
  • Experience building software solutions (e.g. Linux environment)
  • High proficiency in machine learning methods
  • Solid understanding of data modeling (Dataiku DSS experience is an advantage)


  • Ability to interface with diverse groups (scientific teams, developers, business users) and understand end-to-end requirements
  • Solid written and oral presentation/communication/visualisation skills
  • Knowledge within meteorology, atmospheric science, or flow modeling
  • Experience with containers and cloud architectures
  • Ability to plan, organise, prioritise tasks - and to complete assigned projects with minimal supervisions
  • Systematic problem-solving skills with a solid sense of ownership
  • Aptitude to separately and continuously learn new methods and technologies

Additional information

Your primary work location will be Aarhus, Denmark. You can expect 10 days of travel per year.
