Student Assistant for Commercial Due Diligence in COWI Deal Advisory (48780)
Application deadline: 26 June 2022 - Denmark - Location: Lyngby - Energy & Marine

Do you want to be part of COWI's strategic journey in accelerating the green transition internationally and build strong skills for your future career? Do you want to be a part of a newly established department with a focus on Deal Advisory & Due Diligence in the energy sector? Then, this opportunity could be a match for you!

JOIN OUR NEWLY ESTABLISHED DEPARTMENT ON DEAL ADVISORY & DUE DILIGENCE IN LYNGBY
COWI experiences an increasing advisory demand by international investors and project developers targeting the buy or sell of green transition assets e.g. within PtX, wind, solar, bioenergy and CCS. To strengthen our position on the market, a new department opens its doors in COWI's Energy International business unit.

The new department aims to enable clients to realise long-term value, with a forward-thinking approach to deal planning and execution, considering key risks, opportunities, and business results. It works closely with clients to determine which prospective deals offer the most potential, based on COWI's deep sectoral knowledge, underlying market dynamics, economics, and engineering.

The Deal Advisory & Due Diligence Department is the hub of COWIs global end-to-end transaction buy or sell advisory, including all aspects of technical, financial, market, regulatory and ESG and sustainability due diligence, as well as capital raising.

It aims to enable clients globally to progress towards their strategic goals and to make timely and evidence-based decisions by thoroughly assessing a target's full potential and thus enabling long-term value creation aligned with the green transition. It collaborates with private equity and institutional investor clients across the investment life cycle, from deal generation and due diligence to portfolio value creation and exit planning.

AN EXCITING PART-TIME POSITION WHERE YOUR SKILLS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
You will support the COWI team in accelerating the energy transition internationally via commercial due diligence and deal advisory services building on your strong academic background. Your specific tasks could be for example:

  • Data collection and research supporting COWI's best-practice approaches and tools for energy sector commercial due diligence
  • Assistance to the preparation of presentations and visualisations summarizing main findings
  • Assistance to review a company strategy, business plan and asset valuation
  • Benchmark of OPEX/CAPEX estimates and support to risk and sensitivity analysis
  • Review of technical, operational and commercial assumptions in a financial model
  • Ad hoc assistance depending on the need of our clients and COWI’s commercial due diligence team

We expect that you are curious about the sustainable energy projects, phases and the implementation of tools, and willing to take on different types of tasks. You will be learning from many skilled colleagues. Working hours are between 10-20 hours a week. We are flexible during exam periods.

YOUR SKILLS. OUR TEAM. TOGETHER, WE DESIGN THE FUTURE.
Preferably, you are in the last year of your Bachelor's studies or have just started your Master`s in Finance, Economics, or similar.

Furthermore, you have:

  • An interest in the consulting business, investment world and green transition (sustainable energy technologies such as PtX, wind, solar, bioenergy and CCS)

  • An ability to transform results into insightful PowerPoint presentations
  • A commitment to go the extra-mile to deliver high-quality results and meet ambitious deadlines and targets
  • The ability to work independently, while being a team player
