Student Assistant, Strategy

Key Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of the Student Assistant position will be to provide support within the following areas:  

  • Industry and market research covering the global offshore drilling industry and related industries in the oil and gas space
  • Forecast market trends in support of the strategy review, commercial review and target setting, and capital allocation process
  • Support the market and commercial intelligence efforts
  • Assist with streamlining the update process for the reports
  • Create Market, Strategy and Investor presentations
  • Cross-departmental support and other ad hoc tasks  

Who we are looking for 

You are currently studying Business Administration & Economics or Finance (such as, but not limited to, Economics (polit.), Applied Economics and Finance, Finance & Strategy, Finance & Accounting, International Business) and: You are in your last year of Bachelor studies at a university or business school, are in the top 10% of your class, and will immediately pursue a Master’s degree  OR  You have just begun your Masters studies at a university or business school and are in the top 10% of your class   

Additionally, you possess the following:

  • Insights and understanding of corporate finance, economics, strategy and business administration
  • Excellent analytical skills and data-driven
  • Super-user of Excel and PowerPoint with a flair for making presentations
  • Confident, strong communication skills, with the ability to develop and defend a viewpoint
  • Structured and detail oriented
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in work product
  • Ability to work independently, developing analysis and presentations based on limited guidance
  • Committed and hard-working with the possibility of flexible, sometimes unpredictable working hours
  • Fluency in English, both in writing and speaking

Your expected working hours will be between 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility to work less during exam periods and more during semester breaks.   As we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and we will close the ad once we have hired our new member.
