STUDENT ASSISTANT: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS

RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING AREAS As a student assistant you will support the research programme and its Project Coordinator in administrative tasks and project management.

Your assignments may include supporting the following:

  • Coordination with partners
  • Planning and preparation of international meetings, including logistics
  • Reporting and financial accounting
  • Editorial, desk and field research activities
  • External communications including website and social media.
Realising the SDGs: The role of responsible business is a four-year, DKK9.4M research programme funded by Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs/DANIDA. The project aims to investigate how “responsible business” policies may contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda and UN Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on decent work in Ghana and Kenya.

The project aims to generate new knowledge on the drivers and constraints conditioning responsible business. It should also deliver insights relevant for policy makers and enhance academic research capacity on sustainable business and human rights in Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • You should be a student at Masters degree level in law, political science, international relations, sustainable development or similar.
  • You should demonstrable interest in the above themes, competence in administrative support and familiarity with relevant office systems.
  • You enjoy working in teams with people from different academic, professional and geographic backgrounds.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Danish is an advantage.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Salary is set in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with The Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark (HK). The position is 15 hours/week on average and based in Copenhagen.
