Job Description

The Opportunity: 

We are looking for a Student Intern to be a part of and support the Mattel Nordics and Benelux marketing teams. This position is located in the Mattel Nordics office in downtown Copenhagen. The Nordic marketing team consists of 4 people: Marketing Manager and 3 Brand Managers. The Benelux marketing team comprises of 5 people: Marketing Manager, 3 Brand Managers and Marketing Coordinator.

As Student Intern, you will support the teams of both departments in the planning and implementation of marketing communication activities. You will have the chance to experience crafting brands and create meaningful connections, both internally and externally. You will get the opportunity to work with media and European marketing teams on new exciting brands and products and you will learn from one of the best teams in the marketing industry.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Work closely with your line manager, the Head of Marketing for the Nordics, and other members of the marketing team in the Nordics and Benelux on key analytical projects. You will be preparing toy category competitive set analysis, brand performance analysis, pricing trackers and report findings.
  • Support Brand Managers with brand activations of well-known brands like Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price. Collaborate with other areas of the commercial team such as Sales, Finance and Supply Chain. Help to drive execution of innovative digital media/retail campaigns on-line. Own the development and implementation of our customer showroom.
  • Collaboration on the development of marketing plans for the launch of new products/brands.
  • Develop/adapt /translate/copyright communication materials for our world-famous brands across TV, social, digital and print for the local languages.
  • Work in cooperation with external parties (media agency, licensors, retailers) and internal parties (regional marketing, sales, etc.)
  • Support the Benelux marketing team in daily administrative tasks such as demand consensus meetings, line selection, pricing.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Curiosity, proactivity and enthusiasm: You will have strong desire to learn along with professional drive and growth mindset
  • Teamwork: As you will be working with the marketing teams of two regions as well as other teams across the company, you will need to have a strong work ethic, be reliable and accountable
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data in simple solutions
  • Communication skills: As you will be working with an international team, excellent communication skills as well as a high proficiency in English are needed. A Nordic language is a big plus
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Current enrollment in a Marketing/Communication or related master’s degree program
  • International experiences such as Erasmus or studies abroad, are a big plus.
