Student position: Public Health Student with a flair for health research and communication

We are looking for a Public Health student to assist our Public Health team and the reception desk in CHIP. This is a unique opportunity to get your relevant work experience within an international health research environment.

Student assistant tasks
The student assistant will primarily be attached to the Public Health team and assist with many different project related tasks. Focus areas will involve disseminating the latest research and news from major international studies and projects that require a lot of social media interaction, such as European HIV-Hepatitis Week. You will also be helping with standard tasks in CHIP’s reception.
The types of assignments will range widely, but the following responsibilities are expected:
• Conduct literature searches and mappings
• Assist in communication with international partners (emails, update contact databases)
• Help develop social media strategies as well as communicate our messages through social media;
• Writing and formatting newsletters, press releases and project websites
• Survey development and data analysis for evaluation purposes
• Administrative tasks such as printing, meeting logistics, answer the phone, etc.

About you
You are studying Public Health or related fields and at least 2-years into your study. You want to add a distinguished organisation to your CV and gain experience working internationally with a broad range of key stakeholders. You are interested in health research and health sciences. You are an expert in Microsoft Office, able to conduct literature searches, familiar with Endnote and interested in communication and social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter). You are proficient in reading and writing in English and it is an added bonus if you speak another language. As a person, you are detail oriented, creative, self-motivated and work well within a team.

About CHIP
The Centre of Excellence for Health, Immunity and Infections (CHIP) is an integrated part of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. For the last two decades, CHIP has focused primarily on sections of the population having immune dysfunction such as people living with HIV. More recently, this has been expanded to incorporate other patient categories such as organ transplant recipients, cancer patients, patients with autoimmune disease and other groups with increased vulnerability to infectious diseases.

CHIP has more than 50 employees with many different backgrounds and functions ranging from researchers, IT and data handling, coordination of randomised controlled studies, cohort studies and coordination of public health initiatives throughout Europe.

Practical information
The position is for 15-20 hours per week. Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with current public agreements in the Capital Region of Copenhagen. Your work place will be CHIP offices at Rigshospitalet.
