Student Worker, KAIZEN

Are you an Engineering student with interest in KAIZEN and Lean processes and methods? Would you like a position where you can apply your skills to continuously improve and optimise our manufacturing processes?

Tasks & responsibilities: You will…

…perform work observations and time studies in order to improve processes on the Nacelle factory in Lindø through KAIZEN manufacturing initiatives. The task is to collect data on the assembly process and improvements for safety, quality, cost and delivery

Further you will distinguish between value adding and non-value adding work to successfully accomplish corporate goals and objectives. 

You will also: 

  • Find bottle necks through the analysis and initiate KAIZEN activities to balance out and improve the production line
  • Make suggestions to change the detailed layout 
  • Make reductions on the critical path for assembly
  • Make suggestions for correct material flow to the assembly line
  • Improve purchase levels on the BOM 
  • Make suggestions for 5S and SMED 
  • Be in close contact with production workers and other support functions

Skills & experience: Our new colleague…

…is probably studying Industrial Engineering or Marine Engineering and is in the last period of the Bachelor or Master program.  As a person, you are structured and systematic, and you can work independently and take responsibility. It is important that you can adapt to changes quickly. You are a team player able to spot possibilities and improvements. 

We expect that you: 

  • Have a fundamental understanding of the 7 wastes and how to eliminate them as well as pull systems and various related Kanban methods
  • Have knowledge about 5S 
  • Are on a bachelor or master program for industrial Engineering or Marine Engineer
  • Have knowledge with DMAIC methodology
  • Have knowledge with systematic problem solving
  • Have good English skills
