Supervisor for Large Scale Manufacturing

Job Description

We are looking for a Supervisor for our Large Scale Manufacturing, including a Media Preparation, a Cell Culture and a Purification Department. Our new Supervisor colleague will be offered the opportunity to bring leadership capabilities into play, use the interest for technical trouble-shooting and not least work in a highly successful and international workplace. You will lead a team of 8-14 operators, including motivating, developing and recruiting operators. You will work on a day or night shift, 7 days during a 14 day period, including every other weekend.

You schedule and direct daily manufacturing activities, timely communicate scheduling changes/issues to staff and management.
You perform manufacturing activities according to cGMP. Ensure completion of batch records following SOPs. Evaluate test results, identify and resolve deviations.
You troubleshoot operational and equipment problems and make recommendations. Coordinate and draft revisions of batch related documents SOPs.
You train Manufacturing Associates in process activities, including Safety and cGMP requirements under a Human Performance umbrella.
You supervise validation activities, ensure proper and timely execution of validation protocols required in the areas.
You coordinate manufacturing activities with other departments and your supervisor colleagues and contribute or lead cross-functional projects as per business needs

About Large Scale Manufacturing:
The three departments in LSM cover different steps in the biopharmaceutical production such as media preparation, CIP, SIP of equipment, expansion of cell cultures, and purification via multiple column steps. The common denominator of the Media Prep, Cell Culture and Purification departments is the acknowledgement and development of each and every employee and the diversity of our employees who have different experiences and educational backgrounds, but collaborate closely on getting our medicine safely and quickly to the market. The three departments comprise a number of teams, with 8-14 Manufacturing Associates in each.



You have solid practical experience with similar tasks in manufacturing or process development environment -within biotech, pharmaceutical or drink/food production.
You have practical knowledge with GMP's and understanding of biotech / pharma production processes and unit operations. Managerial experience is required.
You have moderate to advanced knowledge of most processing equipment and solid knowledge of the engineering and scientific principles associated with their areas of responsibility.
You need to speak and write English well as our corporate language is English.
Knowledge of OPM/Oracle is an advantage.


Biotech or pharmaceutical BA degree or other relevant educational background from chemical industry, food industry, pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
