System Engineer for Customer Support

Do you want to convert the customers´ needs in to the right system solution by using your technical insight, your system understanding and commercial mindset and do you want to deliver support and solutions of high complexity and quality? Join a world leading supplier of sortation solutions for airports and distribution centers worldwide

You will become part of our Sales & System Support team in our Customer Support division. Here, you join 10 colleagues supporting worldwide customers with expansions and upgrades of their current systems. You will be system responsible for solutions within the mechanical, electrical and/or the controls part of the system. You will be responsible for the specific solution as well as functions, price calculations and quality, and your tasks will include:

  • Analyze specifications from our Service Managers or directly from the customer, for expansions or upgrades of sorting systems
  • Work together with internal specialists to obtain the necessary knowledge and ensure the ideal solution for the customer
  • Calculate exact and realistic prices and ensure documentation of the basis of the price
  • Prepare quotations on the selected solutions

You will be taking on a position, where you work together with specialists across divisions and borders and will be part of a team, where we draw on each other´s knowledge from various fields of competencies. Moreover, you will be on site at the end customer, presenting bigger solutions.

You will typically have 1-2 global customer meetings a month to identify customer needs and present solutions together with our Sales Managers. Therefore, you can expect around 40 days of travel a year, working with colleagues and customers across different time zones and cultures. 

Creative technician with a commercial mindset
You have a degree in Technology Management & Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Global Business Engineering or similar and we imagine that you:

  • Have a couple of years of experience from a similar job, but you might also be a recent graduate with the motivation to learn and develop
  • Have a solid technical and commercial understanding
  • Might have experience in 3D CAD tools, e.g. AutoCad
  • Experienced in MS Office, Excel in particular
  • Written and spoken English on a high level

You have the technical knowhow to understand the complexity of our systems in order to build trust at the customer through your professional knowledge. At the same time, you can communicate and present technical solutions to the regions and the end customer in a way that is easy to understand. Finally, you manage to prioritize many ongoing tasks and are ready to run the miles required to ensure the quality and meet the deadlines.
