Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Associate is responsible for executing an exceptional and forward-thinking global talent strategy for BSR. The Talent Acquisition Associate will play a critical role in overseeing a best-in-class talent management processes and executing sourcing and selection programs to attract and retain the highest-quality talent available globally in the sustainability sector. This role will be based in San Francisco or New York and will report to the Human Resources Director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to be part of an organization addressing critical talent issues and to work with amazing colleagues throughout the world.

Planning/Process Development:  Continue to define and develop recruiting process. Build tools and systems for an effective, efficient candidate pipeline, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, and decision-making processes. Develop and deliver monthly reporting on recruitment metrics and ensure improvement in time-to-hire as well as candidate sourcing and improved candidate experience.

Posting and Sourcing candidates: Oversee the job requisition process, including validation of job descriptions. Work with hiring managers to determine hiring needs, including appropriate skill set, best recruiting strategies, or ad placement, and writing effective advertisements to ensure we are reaching the right candidates. Manage and monitor postings on our career web page and various other job sites. Own and maintain the applicant tracking system to ensure a positive recruiting experience for candidates and hiring managers and recommend system changes when necessary.

Screening and Interviewing: Pre-screen candidates, evaluate candidate’s strengths and weaknesses, and present vetted candidates to hiring managers. With the support of coordinators in each of BSR’s offices, oversee the scheduling of phone and onsite interviews with candidates and hiring managers/hiring teams. Complete background and reference checks on all potential candidates.

  • Make recommendations on capacity needs based on workforce planning
  • Support in the recruitment of interns as seasonally required
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. 
  • Qualifications

  • B.A. degree with 5 years in human resources and a minimum of 3 years in talent or talent acquisition role.
  • Experience within a consulting or sustainability organization preferred.
  • Experience standardizing, implementing, and evaluating talent management processes and programs globally.
  • Familiarity with recruiting practices, networks, and markets in the United States, with familiarity with Europe and Asia being a plus.
  • Ability to develop in-depth understanding of the various positions within the company. 
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • Strong, value-driven customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven, energetic, ambitious, and result-oriented.
  • Willingness to undertake up to 15% business travel post COVID.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to BSR core values of leadership, respect and integrity.
