Do you want to lead, guide and inspire a new team of developers and reduce friction for Umbraco customers as well as colleagues?

The role

We are looking for an experienced team lead or a senior developer with the interest in taking on a team lead role with interest in tech and programming.

You will be the Team Lead for the Customer Experience Team. As team lead it is expected that you take the leading role in leading, guiding and inspiring the team members and ensure that their jobs have purpose, development and most importantly; fun.

You will work closely together with the product owner to ensure a healthy balance between product development and maintaining the technology, code & infrastructure.

You will play a key role in managing the transformation of our technology, while building a high degree of data management and data quality.

Purpose of the Customer Experience Team

The Customer Experience Team is created specifically for 2 purposes

  • To reduce friction for our customers by making their experience with buying and using Umbraco Cloud friendlier and simpler
  • To make our data available for the rest of Umbraco enabling informed decision making across the company.

The projects

The infrastructure of Umbraco Cloud is undergoing a huge improvement of code, infrastructure and data management. This was initiated for 2 primary reasons: To divide the business responsibilities into smaller, more management parts and to improve our data quality. The responsibilities and main projects that the Customer Experience Team will work on includes

  • Managing payments of all Umbraco products
  • Moving current payment solutions to a SaaS based subscription model
  • Handling the data and data quality regarding customers and purchases
  • Utilize the data to complete user stories from every department in Umbraco

The technology

  • We manage our domains in microservices running OpenAPIs on Azure AKS and APIM
  • We use event driven architecture as communication between our services
  • We code in .NET & C# using frameworks like Ardalis, Rebus, EF Core and Azure sdk
  • We build and release using Azure Devops CI/CD pipelines with automated tests
  • We keep it simple and consistent to get to production fast!

Your primary responsibilities

  • Be a team leader in the wider Cloud Experience Group, referring to the Head of Cloud Experience
  • Manage, guide and inspire the team - starting out with two developers
  • Write and review code as an active individual contributor
  • Plan and execute sprints
    • Write & estimate tasks
    • Assist in finding solutions to technical objectives
  • Work closely with the Product Owner in breaking down prioritized feature requests and product improvement to technical tasks to be performed by you and your team
  • Ensure good collaboration across cloud teams and products

  • A take charge attitude and solution oriented personality
  • Project Management experience - preferably from a scrum/agile environment (planning, estimating, etc.)
  • Senior-level experience with backend development
  • Experience with building and maintaining a SaaS platform
  • Experience communicating to developers
  • Previous knowledge of Umbraco and .NET is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence is a plus but not required
  • Experience with Data management is a plus but not required
  • Relevant background in both education and experience
