Team Leader for Shipping - Role with focus on operations and compliance

We are looking for a skilled Shipping leader/specialist who can manage our entire portfolio of shipments from point of request of shipping until final delivery at destination with our customer.

About the department

You will join the Supply Chain Management department consisting of 37 dedicated colleagues with main responsibility for the areas; procurement, planning, warehousing and shipping. We support the entire AGC production and laboratories and collaborate closely with key stakeholders and external suppliers through the cross-functional supply chain. We are working in an international and customer oriented way to secure fast and reliable support to our customers. 
 The job
This is an excellent opportunity for someone truly interested in making a difference. The role is new and you and your team, currently consisting of 2 employees, will be the internal point of contact for planning and execution of all shipments.

You naturally create a positive and inspiring environment around you and lead by being the good example. You will be reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, EU.
 Your responsibilities as Team leader:

  • Ensure timely booking of shipments with appointed freight forwarder according to request
  • Prepare the required export documents and documentation to authorities
  • Coordinate and perform pre-pack and final packaging of shipments  
  • Follow-up on shipments, evaluate temperature results, reporting to customers and archive of documents
  • Ownership and review of relevant packaging and shipping procedures
  • Accountable for inspection readiness and presentation to auditors or authorities 
  • Represent Shipping and provide support in validation activities 

As Team Leader you should be able to:

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders and quality teams to ensure timely planning and execution of shipments
  • Keep the overview of all shipments and evaluate resource need in collaboration with the team and Warehouse Manager
  • Provide structured approach to the tasks and ensure compliance 
  • Keep the bigger picture in mind at all times, yet you understand the importance of minding the details – from the minor to the larger ones

The ideal candidate is expected to have a background within shipping or supply chain and a few years of experience as supervisor or leader. It is important that you have several years experience with export handling, EU and overseas shipments. If you also can provide experience from the pharmaceutical industry is seen as an advantage. 
To be able function well in this role, and i our growth company in general you need to have good IT skills - this means a good understanding of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics Axapta 2012 and user level of Excel. Furthermore our company language is English, therefore it's important that you have good communication skills in both in English and Danish - and the ability to communicate with peers, customers and external partners effectively.
