Technical Manager for global test systems

At Grundfos, we set the standard for water solutions by focusing on innovation, efficiency, reliability and sustainability. Every year, we invest in high-end business development laboratories to support our internal R&D – and as our new technical manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that we apply the newest methods and technologies.

 

Develop and maintain high-end test systems
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our test equipment throughout global business development laboratories in e.g. Denmark, China, Hungary and Finland. In particular, you will be accountable for planning, executing and finalising technical solutions related to our verification and validation systems. This means working with everything from upgrading our test software to developing solutions within mechanics, hydraulics, motors as well as sound and vibration – and much more.

 

Provide technical guidance and inspire innovative thinking   
To succeed, you will work alongside and lead a team of 6 engineers and project managers at our headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark. As a technical manager, you influence your team by challenging ideas and encouraging them to scout for new technologies and methods – always asking if we can test new systems in a more clever, efficient or faster way?

 

In addition to leading your team, you coordinate with partners and suppliers as well as management and other internal stakeholders, as you will be in charge of:

  • Your team’s technical deliveries, including development, FAT, run-in, SAT and handover to stakeholders and maintenance globally
  • Ensuring standard project management deliverables for the successful launch of new systems, including requirements, project schedules, budget, communication, risk assessment, etc.
  • Maintenance and uptime on all test facilities globally including managing technical support
  • Driving cross-functional change projects such as building new labs abroad or testing out new validation software

 

A strong technical foundation and management experience
As you will find yourself in a global role with stakeholders in a range of countries, you need to be a strong communicator with stakeholder management experience. Moreover, you are a skilled leader who knows how to use your own technical expertise to guide and inspire your team. You are results-oriented and not afraid to make decisions. Moreover:

  • You have a degree in engineering – e.g. energy and power engineering, systems- or electrical engineering.
  • We are already skilled in the fields of hydraulics, motors and mechanics – so if you have experience with digital solutions, if would be an added bonus.
  • You have project management experience – preferably from a large organization.
  • Experience with product development is an advantage.
  • You speak and write English fluently.
