Technical Specialist for Data Transfer Technologies

We offer

Industrial IT focuses on projects that deal directly with our assets, like vessels or containers. We run the IT on the vessels and we are responsible for the industry’s biggest IoT installation, the RCM solution with about 300.000 connected reefer containers.

• Be part of a large-scale system implementations, like building a new IT platform for our ocean vessel fleet, the worldwide biggest container shipping fleet.

• Get to interact with leading IT vendors, internal subject matter experts, and internal and external IT professionals.

• A fast paced and dynamic environment with a distinct respect for the individual.

• As part of the Industrial IT team will you get the chance to participate in several projects.

The preferred location for this position is Copenhagen, however depending on the candidate’s current location, Aarhus can be considered. You can expect occasional travel between these locations, up to one week per month. Further details about location can be discussed at the interview.

Key responsibilities

• Acts as subject matter expert regarding data transfer technologies (such as FileCatalyst, MQ, Azure IoT hub based solutions), consulting on development and operations. Is a source of knowledge, technique, or expertise.

• Supports developing new vessel IT solutions as well as implementing them.

• Translates subject matter terminology into business terms and recommends alternatives.

• Creates and reviews technical documentation (such as user guides, training manuals, and system specifications) prior to distribution to end users.

• Take role in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, testing and documenting network systems and software in a laboratory environment and on ocean vessels

Show More We are looking for

• Gained +3 years of experience in developing, deploying and maintaining intelligent data transfer solutions, ideally over maritime communication methods.

• Stakeholder management skills.

• Strong process oriented approach to work and excellent attention to detail.

• Analytical mind-set

• Basic networking skills (OSI Layer, Switches, TCP/IP etc.)

• Resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

• Excellent Written and Verbal skills with people at all levels across the organisation in English.

• Focused on quality

In addition to above the suitable candidate has ideally:
• Experience in the marine industry
• Degree in Computer Science
