Tools/ Web developer

The Sitecore Documentation team is looking for a new colleague. If you enjoy developing tools and websites, and you want to work in a collaborative and innovative team, where work and fun go hand in hand, this could be the perfect role for you!

As a tools developer for the Documentation team, you’ll assist the team in migrating content to a new documentation tool, and become our “go to” person for customizations and add-ons. You’ll look for ways to optimize our work and automate repetitive processes, and you’ll have the satisfaction of working directly with your “customers” on a daily basis.

You’ll also act as the web developer for our documentation site, helping to make sure our site is engaging and frequently updated with new functionality and content types. You’ll enable us to track analytics, and like the rest of the team, you’ll contribute ideas to help us to provide an awesome content experience for developers and business users.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide tools support for the Documentation team, including support and customization for our Help Authoring tool, and the creation of tools and scripts to automate common processes.
  • Work with team members to identify ways in which customizations or new tools can make our work more efficient and more enjoyable.
  • Provide development support for the Documentation website, including the chance to influence the way in which we interact with our users and partners, and provide engaging content. You can see the current documentation sites at and

Your qualifications:

  • You have a background in software development, including experience of web development.
  • You understand HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and have experience of using .NET, and C#. Knowledge about search engines such as Solr or Elasticsearch will also be useful.
  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and are good at finding creative and pragmatic solutions.
  • You are able to quickly grasp and use new technologies and can communicate their complexities in a simple, straightforward fashion.
  • You are curious and inquisitive, with a structured and independent approach to completing your assignments.

It’s an advantage if you have experience in creating technical documentation and /or have familiarity with help authoring tools such as AuthorIT, Madcap Flare, RoboHelp, or Paligo.
