Two or more Senior Researcher positions at the Danish Centre for Studies in Research and Research Policy

The Danish Centre for Studies in Research and Research Policy (CFA) at the Department of Political Science, Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University invites applications for two or more Senior Researcher positions.

The positions are tenured, with an expected starting date of January 1st, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.


Who are we?


CFA is an interdisciplinary centre at the Department of Political Science, Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University. The Centre’s research focuses on research policy, innovation policy and university policy, and contributes to both the theoretical and empirical developments within the field. Currently, we are engaged in research projects within meta-science, research ethics and integrity, responsible research and innovation, gender studies in science, research funding and research policy, and innovation studies.

CFA also engages in teaching and supervision and provides research-based advice to public authorities and performs assessments, analyses and impact studies.

Job description


The position as Senior Researcher is a tenured academic research position.
Senior researchers are expected to contribute to all activities at the Centre. This can include contribution to research projects (data collection, analysis, writing), application for funding, public consultancy work, research management, teaching and supervision.


Qualifications


We hope to attract applicants with expertise within the areas of sociology, education, political science, science and technology studies or related fields.

A PhD is required, preferably in social science or related areas. We expect the candidates to have high quality communication skills in spoken and written English and be able to produce state-of-the art social-science research.

Candidates will be assessed according to a broad range of criteria:

  • Ability to contribute to CFA’s activities and work environment
  • Ability to collaborate and work in teams, experience in international projects
  • Research leadership
  • Quality of publications
  • Application for research funding
  • Teaching, supervision and support of students and early career researchers

Position content

When employed as senior researcher, the primary tasks are research (including the obligation of publication/scientific communication) and research-based public sector consultancy. In addition, teaching to some extent. In addition, undertaking research management, student guidance and supervision of assistant professors and researchers, and academic assessment work.

Terms of employment

The appointment is made in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State (in Danish).
