We are currently looking for an ambitious Product Manager for our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as immersion suits, work suits and lifejackets.

As an important member of our experienced Product Management Team in Esbjerg, Denmark - you will be responsible for driving our PPE product strategy.

VIKING has one of the world’s most comprehensive ranges of high-quality PPE for the maritime industry. Our products are designed and manufactured in-house and are widely known and regarded worldwide. You will play an important role in developing and maintaining this unique position.

Your cross-organizational role brings diverse challenges - both internal with development, production, logistics, as well as external as an important resource for our dedicated sales force. You will not have direct sales responsibility, but our global sales organization will rely on your support to achieve their ambitious goals.

Tasks and responsibilities
In close cooperation with the rest of the team, your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Responsibility for overall strategy within the product group
  • Identifying new product candidates, advising and prioritizing in terms of product development and product optimization projects
  • Monitoring product competitiveness and feasibility with recommendations for relevant actions such as no change, to modify or phase out
  • Coordinate matters and liaise across departments including engineering, product development, rules & regulations, marketing and business development
  • Supporting the sales organization with product knowledge and expert advice, also in connection with high complexity tenders
  • Promoting products internally and externally in partnership with relevant VIKING sales channels
  • Approximately 20-30 travel days per year

  • Your profile
    You’re a ‘self-starter’ with the confidence and ability to plan and manage your own product pipeline with an intelligent, knowledge-based approach to product management. You enjoy working with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, and you’re eager to take on new tasks and challenges.
  • Experience from a similar position
  • Strong commercial mindset and with a good technical understanding
  • Maritime industry experience is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Proactive approach
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Danish (preferred)
