Where do you come in?
We have an immediate opening for an ambitious Sales Assistant for our inside sales department in Hamble, Southampton (England). Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, you will be part of the VIKING UK team with branches in Great Yarmouth, Liverpool, Aberdeen and Southampton.

The ideal candidate has great communication and interpersonal skills – and knows how to deliver an outstanding customer experience. Also, you are a team player, who knows how to juggle multiple tasks on your own as well. You are eager to contribute and assist your colleagues and you are not afraid of making an extraordinary effort, when deadlines require it.

Together with high performing colleagues, you will be a part of an international organization comprising production facilities in Denmark, Norway, Bulgaria and Thailand, and a global network of VIKING-owned servicing stations.

In a truly global organization as ours, excellent spoken and written English is necessary

Primary tasks and responsibilities

  • Handle quotations and process orders
  • Identify, validate, execute and follow-up on enquiries and leads
  • Support Sales Managers and the Service Team in developing A, B and VIP customers
  • Ensure timely reply to quotations and purchase orders from all customers
  • Register won, lost, pending quotations in the quotation follow up sheet
  • Develop and maintain good relationship to C-customers
  • Ensure customers are aware of the full VIKING portfolio
  • Ensure sales team is updated with all potential enquires from customers
  • Maintain relevant information in the CRM system
  • Coordinate communication with other departments
  • Perform and maintain sales excellence initiatives
  • Ensure HSE rules are followed
  • Monitor market developments incl Rules and Regulations

  • Working hours are Monday to Friday from 08h30 to 16h30.The working environment is informal, yet professional – and a good sense of humour is certainly welcome. You should expect to travel maximum of 1 week a year.
