What you will do
You will join a newly established Data Platform Team of skilled and engaged colleagues of different seniority. The team is part of the global department IT & Digital Enablement (IT&DE) supporting the entire VELUX Group.
You will be working on a completely new Data Platform with the most modern technologies that is built around Snowflake and dbt Cloud. Your main focus will be to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines with a strong foundation. This entails designing reliable infrastructure, documenting data models, and tracking lineage to power data-driven decisions.
Furthermore, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to create and share domain-oriented data products products with decentralized ownership using tools like Snowflake, dbt and Confluent Kafka, while leveraging modern DevOps practices including CI/CD.
Your key responsibilities will include to:
Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT processes for efficient and reliable data flows.
Collect data from various sources, including databases, APIs, external providers, and streaming platforms for IoT solutions.
Partner with data scientists and analysts to provide clean data for analytics and AI, understanding and meeting their data needs.
Ensure adherence to data security standards, maintaining data integrity and privacy throughout the data ecosystem.
Monitor and enhance data pipeline and workflow efficiency, scaling solutions as needed to tackle bottlenecks.
Maintain clean documentation of data models and processes for team clarity and collaboration.
Stay up to date with emerging data engineering trends and practices to continually improve data capabilities and infrastructure.
You will be part of a global organisation and an international team and will be based at either our offices in Warsaw, Poland, or the Head Office in Hørsholm, Denmark. We utilise our available technology to work virtually and flexible but you can expect some travelling.
Who you are
We are looking for you who have at least 3 years’ experience working in data engineering with a solid background in data pipeline development. You want to be part of a team where knowledge is shared and you value teamwork as well taking accountability for your own tasks.
Moreover, we imagine that you:
Are proficient in data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and database management
Have experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (preferably experience with Azure)
Are proficient in programming languages like Python and SQL for data processing
Are familiar with data warehousing, big data technologies, and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
Possess advanced problem-solving and analytical skills and a high level of responsibility for individual work and teamwork
Are fluent in English (spoken and written) with solid communication skills
