We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to undertake studies of wound, immunity, and DNA damage induced somatic reprogramming in plants. We have a focus on signaling mechanisms including MAP kinase pathways and autophagy and how these processes mediate temporary and somatic reprogramming in plants.
Based on a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we have designed a project, which involves studies of MAP kinase mutants in
Physcomitrella patens. You will make molecular studies of how these signaling components discriminate between wound and immunity triggered responses including. You will be part of our highly experienced research team of about 10 people working on related topics.
Required qualifications The applicant should hold professional as well as personal skills and qualifications as stated below:
- Applicants should have a PhD-degree in molecular biology or related area
- Practical experience in Arabidopsis and P. patens genetics and molecular biology
- Good interpersonal skills
- Be excellent in English, writing and speech
Candidates fulfilling the following qualifications will be prioritized:
- Practical experience in DNA damage methods in plants
- Practical experience in reprogramming assays in P. patens
- Practical experience in MAP kinase assays
- Practical experience in protein-protein interaction studies
- Practical experience in confocal microscopy

The postdoc’s duties will include research within functional genomics as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
