The Niels Bohr International Academy, Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen offers a part-time fixed-term Assistant Professorship in Neutrino Astrophysics. We seek candidates expert in the analytical as well as numerical modeling of neutrino quantum kinetics in compact astrophysical sources, such as core-collapse supernova explosions and neutron star mergers.

The Niels Bohr International Academy is a young initiative committed to fostering the traditions of internationalism, interdisciplinarity and excellence in physics, which characterize the Niels Bohr Institute. It functions as a primary center for fundamental research including theoretical and computational astrophysics, cosmology, high energy particle physics, particle astrophysics, condensed matter physics, quantum optics, and biophysics.

The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research in Neutrino Astrophysics, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties.

The position is open from 01.09.2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is 29,6 hours per week (80%) and for a 3-year period.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
