APPLICATION SPECIALIST – REVERSE OSMOSIS

Aquaporin is an innovative water technology company leveraging biotechnology to improve the efficiency of water treatment and concentration of various streams. Our main strategy is to develop the Aquaporin Inside® technology capable of separating and purifying water from all other compounds.

As part of our journey to becoming a world leader in membrane filtration and water treatment, Aquaporin is looking for a talented, experienced, and independent Application Specialist. You will be part of the Commercial Engineering department for Reverse Osmosis (CERO), which is responsible for the integration of our Aquaporin Inside® Reverse Osmosis flatsheet membranes into RO products and solutions, as well as the technical sales and after-sales support for our Aquaporin Inside® Reverse Osmosis products.

Key responsibilities and tasks

In the CERO team, you will be responsible for Aquaporin Inside® Reverse Osmosis flatsheets, elements, and purifiers. Your primary focus will be the Drinking Water RO (DWRO) product line but you will also be expected to back up our activities in industrial RO as a secondary responsibility (Brackish and Seawater). You will work together with the CERO team to understand and communicate our RO product performances and limitations, bringing the technical voice in internal and external customer meetings. Being highly collaborative and entrepreneurial, you will work with colleagues from various teams, including: RO membrane flatsheet development, quality control, regulatory, product management, and sales. You will also closely interact with external suppliers to ensure that we offer unique, high-quality, competitive, and compliant Aquaporin Inside® RO products.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Design and perform performance and stress tests of our current and future Aquaporin Inside® RO products in collaboration with our CERO technicians.
• Communicate test results, recommendations, and foreseeable risks to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Create technical documentation, such as product datasheets, user and service manuals, tutorials, and technical product presentations.
• Run projections using Aquaporin’s proprietary tools to design RO systems.
• In coordination with the sales team, prepare commercial and technical proposals that highlight the value proposition of Aquaporin Membranes.
• Provide technical support to sales team and internal customers.
• Participate in external meetings and in trade shows.
• Support our regulatory department to ensure product compliance against drinking water and other relevant standards.
• Support our sales team with technical expertise and after-sales technical support for our RO products.
• Support the development of new RO products.
• Maintain and enforce safe working principles in CERO’s laboratory spaces including maintenance of equipment and test setups.
• Travel to customer sites and to our other offices as required.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree (M.Sc.) in environmental or process engineering, water chemistry & treatment, or other relevant disciplines.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in the fields of water treatment, water chemistry, and membrane filtration, incl. laboratory experience and analytical skills.
• Ability to initiate and execute projects independently.
• Ability to collaborate at multiple levels in the organization and balance multiple requests and agendas.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English. Chinese is a plus.
