About the department
Integrated Physiology Research is a VP area encompassing all in vivo pharmacology departments in the cardiometabolic space in the research part of Novo Nordisk. As part of Novo Nordisk’s strategy within cardiometabolic diseases, this VP area is focused on target identification, validation, and deep pre-clinical characterisation of novel treatment options for obesity, diabetes, liver disease, cardiovascular disease, and renal disease. In close collaboration with our in vitro colleagues, we strive to identify and mature pharmaceutical approaches that will benefit patients living with obesity or other serious chronic disease. We establish, validate, and use in vivo models in rodents (mice and rats) and large animals (e.g. pigs, dogs, and non-human primates) and perform pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and mode-of-action studies to characterize potential new drug candidates. Experimental work is carried out by technical staff and scientists as well as outsourced as contract research.
You will be part of an in vivo pharmacology department. The department is part of Global Drug Discovery, which specializes in the discovery of biological medicines for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, haemophilia, chronic liver disease, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular diseases. We mainly work with rodents (rats and mice), but also large animals (dogs and pigs) when needed. Our department consists of a mix of skilled and experienced laboratory technicians and academics. There is a great collaborative spirit in the department and we highly value teamwork and willingness to work across teams and departments. You will also work with CROs and academic collaborators in order to provide project teams with critical data. We always strive for excellence and continuously develop our expertise to stay ahead - both as a company and as individuals. We believe that innovation and creativity thrive in a healthy and engaging working environment. Therefore, we give you the opportunity to bring your personal ambition and passion to work to improve the quality of life of the patients.
