We are seeking a Mechanical Cooling Engineer in our Head Quarters in Hedehusene, Denmark, to join the Sustainable Melting Team.

Your future team:

You will be part of our Sustainable Melting Team and work from our International Engineering offices in Hedehusene, Denmark.

The team delivers state of the art Melting plants to ROCKWOOL factories trough out the World and technical solutions to our factories stretching from upgrades and repairs to complete melting plants in new-build factories.

What you will be doing:

As a Cooling Engineer at ROCKWOOL, you'll be at the forefront of sustainable melting technologies. Your critical role will involve designing and implementing cutting-edge cooling systems (including both water and air cooling) as well as auxiliary systems like gas, oxygen, and nitrogen installations. From the initial concept and study phase through to detailed specification, design, testing, commissioning, and after-service support, your expertise will guide the creation of energy-efficient systems that comply with industry standards such as PED, EN, ASME, and more. Taking a hands-on approach, you'll manage tender packages, conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and provide on-site supervision to ensure the seamless integration of our cooling solutions.

What you bring:

A mechanical engineer with a bachelor's or master's degree, possessing a solid background in thermodynamics, including sizing of pipes, valves, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.

Proficient in mechanical design and 3D modeling, with experience in Inventor or similar CAD software. Experience/Eagerness to work with Autocad Plant 3D will be a plus.

Knowledgeable in welding techniques, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), inspection methods, and material science.

A team player who thrives in collaborative environments, yet is comfortable working independently and taking initiative on projects.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and technical specifications clearly.
