The position
is placed in Greater Copenhagen area, Denmark, or Boston area, USA. We welcome applicants that are already based in these counties and those who are willing to relocate to Denmark. The Position Reporting to Corporate Project Vice President of the Portfolio Projects, the rPVP leads a subset of cross-functional global project teams in Research and Early Development (R&ED), inspiring and empowering them to achieve exceptional results. The rPVP collaborates with many internal stakeholders, including engagements with Executive Leadership team and various Senior Vice President Management groups. External engagements with key opinion leaders are also an important part of the role. The key responsibility of the rPVP is defining strategies, and driving efficient progress, and successful execution of the drug projects in Obesity and Diabetes. This includes developing ambitious project plans and mitigation strategies to identified risks, complications, and project dependencies. The rPVP is accountable for project progress, internal and external project related communications, and budget and financial targets. This role has a strong focus on building an operational model for leveraging portfolio synergies, making clear priorities, and maximizing efficiency in bringing the best projects fast forward to clinical testing. Using their broad scientific and technology acumen and strong communication skills, the rPVP is expected to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders in R&ED and across the value chain. The rPVP will ensure the accelerated progress for the projects through close interaction with development, commercial and business development areas. Qualifications You have a natural science background (preferably Ph.D.) combined with solid experience leading drug development project teams in a complex science organisation in the pharma industry. To succeed in the role, you possess: Scientific knowledge in Diabetes and Obesity coupled with direct experience with drug development projects in this field. Experience with small molecule drug development and collaboration with external partners is an advantage. Proven project management capabilities and strong project management toolbox. Strong leadership skills and passion to drive improvements and identifying innovative and creative solutions to achieve project objectives and improve operating model. Excellent collaboration skills. You are a team player that enjoys empowering and supporting others to achieve the common goal. Ability to navigate a complex matrix organization, and influence stakeholders at all levels. Enterprise mindset and ability to use your value chain knowledge and experience to adapt the “big picture” view to your projects. Ability to adapt and be comfortable with in fast pace quickly changing environment.
