A 40 % position for 5.5 years as Researcher is available at Cardio-Metabolic Prevention, Clinical Research, Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC), from June 1, 2024. The position is open for medical doctors holding a PhD and more than three years of postdoctoral experience.
The department
Cardio-Metabolic Prevention aims to improve the health of individuals at high risk with special focus on reducing the risk of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Our clinical interventional research is based on human studies of individuals with obesity, prediabetes, and diabetes and their cardiometabolic complications/co-morbidities. Our studies involve very detailed physiological studies of smaller groups of individuals and larger clinical studies involving several hundred individuals. Our long-term goal is the prevention of obesity and diabetes and their cardiometabolic complications/co-morbidities.
The candidate
Documented experience with clinical research within both metabolic and cardiovascular disease. The ideal candidate has experience within both experimental tests such as plasma glucose clamping, continuous glucose monitoring, advanced cardiac rhythm monitoring and echocardiography. Furthermore, experience with fund raising and supervision of Postdocs, PhD students and young researchers is a requirement. Good collaboration skills, a positive mindset, and willingness to plan symposia/conferences are a plus.
Terms
The Researcher will be offered a 40 % position for a period of 5,5 years (June 1, 2024, to November 30, 2029). Employment will be in accordance with the relevant collective agreement within the Capital Region of Denmark.
