Job Description

The Senior Packaging Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of packaging solutions for the company's products. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure the packaging meets all technical, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement innovative packaging designs that enhance product protection, improve logistics, and reduce environmental impact.

Conduct in-depth analysis of packaging materials, structures, and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for optimization.

Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new packaging technologies and materials, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.

Oversee the testing and validation of packaging prototypes, ensuring they meet all relevant standards and regulations.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior packaging engineers, helping to build a strong and capable team.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in packaging engineering.

Contribute to the development of the company's packaging strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in packaging engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Expertise in packaging design, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficient in the use of packaging design software and simulation tools.

Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and sustainability practices.

Ability to travel to manufacturing sites and supplier locations as needed.
