The position
is anchored in Centre for Functional Assays & Screening. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with department scientists and laboratory technicians to develop, plan, and execute in vitro biological screening assays with a high focus on automated and digitalized workflows. As our new Senior Laboratory Technician, you will have the opportunity to: Plan and execute experiments including screening cycles using state-of-the-art automation solutions Develop and optimize tailormade cellular in vitro assays with medium and high through-put Perform data analysis and document experimental work Take part in experimental troubleshooting Work with mammalian cell cultures and cell-based in vitro biological assays Your role will also involve enhancing daily workflows within the department, fostering continuous improvements. Qualifications To be successful in this role, we imagine that you have: A relevant education as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent Experience with mammalian cell culture methodologies Excellent laboratory skills and extensive hands-on experience with development and execution of in vitro biological assays e.g. reporter gene assays, receptor binding, HTRF and ELISA A keen interest and experience with screening using liquid handlers e.g. Biomek, Hamilton or Tecan or other automation solutions and systems Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbally Research experience from the pharmaceutical industry/biotech and programming abilities (e.g. Python or R) are considered as an advantage, but not a requirement. We specialise in the design and execution of a variety of biologically relevant medium- and high-throughput screening assays with a strong focus on automation and digitalisation. As part of a matrix organisation, we deliver high quality in vitro data to support the identification, optimisation, and characterisation of drug candidates across multiple projects to progress our projects portfolio in close collaboration through synergistic cross-organisational collaborations. CFAS consists of three sub-departments and currently consists of 16 scientists, four associate scientists, 15 technicians and two students. You will be part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team exploring and identifying new treatment options for diabetes, obesity, and other serious chronic diseases.
