Senior Software Engineer

The role:

As a Sr. Software Engineer at Onomondo, you are a key member of the Core Network Squad, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for telecom. This role requires a strong background in telecom technologies, combined with advanced coding skills and a passion for software development.

At Onomondo we build things in Node.JS, which are unusual in telecom, but gives us an edge as a merger between telecom and tech.

You will be joining our Core Network Squad with 4 other engineers. This Squad has the responsibilities of our core offering, which are the telco related elements in our tech stack.

Key responsibilities:

• Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain software applications and tools used in telecom systems. Implement new features, enhancements, and optimizations to improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of the already existing telecom software stack at Onomondo.
• Telecom Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of telecom protocols, standards, and technologies, such as DIAMETER, SS7, and GTP, to design and develop software solutions that meet industry requirements and standards. This requires understanding of Telecom networking, including core elements such as HLR/HSS, GGSN/PGW, STP, DRA/DEA, MME, and SGW.
• Stay informed: Stay ahead on emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in the telecom industry, and explore opportunities to leverage new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance software development processes and solutions.
  

What you've probably been up to lately:

• Previous experience in a senior or lead engineering role
• Experience working in the Telecom space
• Technical understanding of communication protocols and network architecture
• Working in environments that require high adaptability and an agile approach to work (such as startups, scale-ups, etc.)
