Job Description

The Senior Accountant role will prepare and oversee financial reports to ensure tracking of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial and accounting activities.  The Senior Accountant is expected to perform under minimal supervision and provide insight to other team members, while adhering to all accounting laws and regulations.  This position functions as the internal corporate accounting function for P2 Energy Solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review  customer invoices prepared by  Accounting Assistant and assist in verifying correctness
• Responsible for customer collections
• Maintain Balance Sheet accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information with supporting schedules at month-end
• Review customer contracts to determine revenue recognition issues
• Review and prepare journal entries resulting in reallocation of revenue deferrals
• Maintain and analyze percentage of completion calculations related to customer contracts
• Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
• Prepare local/city sales and use tax returns (US sales/use tax, GST, VAT, etc.)
• Provide a wide variety of customer service for customers and field locations
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
• Prepare ad hoc analysis, when needed
• Manage company wide fixed asset process.  Ability to calculate and record depreciation of a company's assets and investigating their potential obsolescence

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting legislation and best practices
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to GAAP
• Ability to utilize accounting software
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Math
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be detailed-oriented and organized
• Ability to collaborate and provide constructive feedback to team members

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent relevant work experience is required
• 5-7 years of experience in Accounting is required
• Current CPA or seeking CPA is preferred
• Great Plains software knowledge or experience is a plus
• Software accounting a plus
• Fixed asset experience a plus
• Prior experience with foreign currencies a plus
• Supervisory experience is a plus
