Test Engineer at The Signalling Programme

We are looking for a Test Engineer who wants to join the Test team in the Signalling Programme, based in Copenhagen.

The Danish Signalling Programme, the largest of its kind in Europe, is replacing the old signalling system on the entire national railway with new computer-based signalling technology (ERTMS Level 2, Baseline 3). Denmark is the first European country to implement the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) on a national scale.

The project is supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe. You will become a part of an international team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The position

As a System Test Engineer, you will dive into specific technologies in use, in ETCS and interlocking, traffic management, train operations, telecom and IT security.

You will participate in test, defect management and V&V topics as well as provide technical support for the other project teams such as design and safety.

What you are needed for:

• To be responsible for the test activities for the onboard projects in the signalling program, mostly in the Joint Test Lab (JTL)
• To support the test and commissioning activities in the Fjernbane project (trackside) in the lab and on the field
• To design, arrange, perform and report ETCS-tests for onboard and trackside signalling systems
• To program and operate simulator tools for testing
• To coordinate with the supplier’s test managers for the supplier’s test deliveries and activities in the lab.

As part of the job, you can expect a variety of tasks such as:

• Participate in the planning of test activities
• Review design and documentation from the supplier
• Witness test executions from the supplier
• Organize and execute customer tests, analyze test results and defects towards the customer requirements
• Coordinate the test activities with the JTL management team

Engineer with analytical skills and structured approach

We are looking for a candidate with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer science. You are skilled within planning and have a good ability to delegate and follow up on deliverables. It is beneficial if you have previous experience in the testing field, some programming skills, and background in the railway industry, in particular signalling systems.

On a personal level, we are looking for a team player with analytical and problem-solving skills, a structured and detailed approach, as well as good communication skills. You can work towards given tasks and deadlines independently or in a team.

Your English is fluent, written and spoken, as our office language is English, and the role includes writing reports and communicating with colleagues of different nationalities.

About the Section Test and the Signalling Programme

The Section Test is a team of 12 people working with test and commissioning activities in the lab and on site. The section is part of the Fjernbane Project in the Signalling Program and we work together with the Onboard Project.

Between the projects of Fjernbane and Onboard, we are around 100 employees. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and interact with highly skilled colleagues in many different areas, such as project management, design and engineering, installation, testing, safety, contract management, quality, documentation…

Salary

You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experiences and qualifications.
