The Department of Technology and Innovation (ITI) at University of Southern Denmark (SDU), section of Engineering Operations Management, invites applications for a position as Assistant or Associate Professor in Sustainable Operations Management.
Job description
Successful candidates will drive internationally competitive research, collaborate in and across disciplines, work closely with industry and attract competitive external research and innovation funding in collaboration with senior researchers. The candidates will play a key role in providing outstanding education, supervise students and develop junior research staff.

We offer a vigorous international research environment with a balance of male and female researchers, excellent facilities, including the new Robotics and Additive Manufacturing Laboratories at University of Southern Denmark, a long-term strategic initiative created to support research, teaching, and industrial collaboration and experimentation[1]. SDU expect to increase its’ collaboration with industrial companies and associations in the coming years. Partners will among others be within the Renewable Energy Sector (particularly equipment vendors for the Wind Turbine and Power-to-X industries) with the purpose of contributing to realization of DK and EU objectives for scalability and low cost of green electricity and fuels for industry and transport. The candidate can thus work with colleagues on one or more external funded projects addressing digitalization, digital twin, and competitive challenges of manufacturing and supply chains of this industry, but can also choose to address challenges faced by other industry sectors. In addition to that, the position offers the opportunity to shape our educational and research and innovation programs to benefit from new developments in research fields, approaches and content.

Working experience from industry, also within the renewable energy sector, will be seen as positive on but is not a requirement to apply for the position.

Condition of employment
The appointment as Associate Professor is permanent while that as Assistant Professor is for an initial period of 3 years. Employment as an assistant professor requires scientific qualifications at PhD level.
During employment, the assistant professor must complete the Lecturer Training Programme.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Further information on salary and taxation.
