Insurance is all about life. And it’s all about data. At If you will work with technical solutions that have the power to turn misfortunes into possibilities and dreams into reality. We are now looking for a Data Manager in the Business Performance Analytics-unit (BPA) to assume the role of Data Product Owner for our Nordic Sales Data Product and lead the Nordic Sales Data Squad.

About the Job

You will be working in a Nordic setting to lead and participate in strategic and technical development of If’s Nordic data assets. Key focus areas include planning and alignment on development areas with business stakeholders across the organization; collaboration with analysts and other data consumers on definition, needs and usability of data; as well as co-ordinate and support the activities of the development squad.
 

The scope of the data product encompasses architecture, usability, documentation, contracts with external vendors or legal compliancy of data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of a defined Nordic data product – ensuring that the data product is discoverable, highly usable, GDPR compliant and has in general good quality.
  • Maintain a vision and roadmap for the data product.
  • Collection of user stories and prioritization of the backlog related to the development of data products.
  • Acting as the bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives.
  • Keeping stakeholders informed of the project status, milestones, and potential challenges that may impact timelines or goals.
  • Promoting/evangelizing of best practice, usage and features of the data product in the organization.

You will be working with analysts in Product & Price, the Control & Actuary unit as well as data managers, data engineers, and data scientists within CA&DM organized under the Advanced Analytics and Data Management chapter.     About the unit

    The BPA-unit has the responsibility of supporting both the Control & Actuary unit as well as Private at large in aspects related to Nordic reporting, data, and analytics. The unit’s mission is to elevate reporting, planning and business-follow-up capacity through collaborative efforts with other BUs, thereby enhancing overall business steering capabilities for management.

    Main goals of the unit:

  • Assist in formulating business definitions and KPI’s and take the lead in initiating and steering projects that aim to deliver Nordic data assets based these on definitions.
  • Secure tools and reports to empower business to efficiently acquire insights and data.
  • Improve efficiency in reporting, planning and business follow-up processes.
  • Provide guidance to Private and BU management on aspects like business operations development and trends.
  • Play an active role in strategic initiatives, including business cases and development projects within the Control & Actuary unit.
  • Proactively collect insights to comprehend value creation, trends, the competitive landscape, and market positioning.
  • About you

    As a Data Manager, your expertise lies within the broader data and analytics domain. You may have had experience in one or several areas ranging from BI and related data development, data modelling and architecture, to core data development and solution design. You are comfortable and enjoy working with diverse groups from strategic, operational, and technical areas within the organization.

    You have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with specialists and stakeholders.
  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to delegate, coordinate, and motivate a team.
  • A proactive attitude, you are self-driven, and challenge yourself and others to grow.
  • Relevant technical skills
  • A relevant academic/university degree
  • Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language
