Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance to oil and gas clients in data management best practices, OSDU data platform utilization, and Upstream processes such as subsurface interpretation, well delivery (planning, drilling, completing, producing), petrophysical analysis, core analysis, reservoir modeling, etc Communicate effectively with clients at various authority levels, from executives to individual contributors, across both business and IT domains Contribute to pre-sales efforts, articulating data management service offerings and EPAMs understanding of energy business processes Contribute to training preparation and delivery on data management topics for both internal and external audiences Effectively collaborate with teams to comprehend client pain points, needs, culture, and aspirations. Develop strategic roadmaps based on data management best practices and align them with customer needs and pain points Stay current on OSDU Forum and Platform developments, focusing on data definitions. Remain up-to-date on energy data management topics, including common issues, new data types, best practices, industry software offerings, methods of data transmission, storage, shapes of data, and data governance best practices Periodically attend and present at industry conferences and events, representing EPAM. Build expertise in data-related concerns of renewables and energy transition, encompassing data types, sources, standards, challenges, and relevant use cases
Requirements
Minimum 5 years in upstream oil and gas, in roles and activities including the following: Enterprise data management experience covering data types such as wells, deviation surveys, logs, seismic, core, GIS data types, operations reports, reservoir models, and production volumes Master Data Management functions such as matching, merging, creating gold records, reference data management, and data definitions management/governance Experience with data platforms and applications such as IHS/S&P EDM, Landmark CDS, Quorum TDM, Informatica MDM, Openworks, OSDU, and Snowflake Data Governance and/or Data Quality rule design and communication with stakeholders Experience working with E&P professionals such as Geoscientists, Engineers, Landmen Data analysis and/or data engineering using SQL, Python, or similar Training and communication on the activities above
Nice to have
Bachelors and/or Masters in Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Management, Petroleum Engineering, MIS, or Computer Science Experience with industry data standards such as those of PPDM, Energistics, PWLS, SEG, OSDU, and IOGP Business Analysis / process mapping tools such as Visio, Draw.io, etc
