We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to be part of the CFO Office in the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

The job will offer you direct exposure to the Executive Office (CEO, COO, CFO) and give you a unique insight into the inner workings of philanthropy and foundations. You will support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the management of one of the world’s largest philanthropic foundations.

The vision of the Novo Nordisk Foundation is to improve people’s health and the sustainability of society and the planet. In 2023 The Novo Nordisk Foundation awarded more than DKK 9.1bn in grants and philanthropic investment, which makes the foundation one of the largest philanthropic actors in the world. The Novo Nordisk Foundation is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The job
The Executive Office is responsible for ensuring that the decisions of the Board of Directors are implemented and for monitoring and following up on the Foundation’s activities.

The CFO oversees central business functions and projects, including strategy implementation, financial planning, follow-up and reporting, financial grant management and partnering for programme areas, business controling, grant impact and corporate social reporting, digitalization and project excellence,  corporate IT, buildings and large investments.

As Executive Assistant, you will be working mainly within the CFO office and the interface to the CEO and the COO office. However, you will have a broad interface with the entire foundation. You will work closely with the CFO, the COO’s Executive Assistant, the Personal Assistant, and the CFO Leadership team.

The range of tasks is broad and will include:

  • Day-to-day planning, organising and continuously having the overview of the case-flow of the CFO’s priorities and ensure hands-on follow-up accordingly.  
  • Proactively filling the gaps and support execution on a wide range of tasks and projects
  • Responsibility for initial handling of various internal and external inquiries on behalf of our CFO
  • Keeping an overview and re-prioritise tasks as needed.


Your key success criteria are to enable the CFO and the relevant stakeholders to focus on the key priorities.

You will receive on-the-job-training and continuous feedback from the CFO and have an extensive exposure to both external and internal stakeholders across the NNF organization and companies in the Novo family.  

Professional and personal qualifications
We are looking for a person with a strong dedication to the tasks and motivated by being part of a small team with an opportunity of great impact in the role. You have several years of relevant experience with management support, coordination of larger cross-organisational projects or implementation of corporate strategy from management consulting or private companies.  Furthermore, we expect that you have:

  • A relevant master’s degree in business, finance or economics   
  • A structured, systematic, and independent way of working with the ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining strong attention to details and high-quality deliveries
  • Experience with interacting with many different stakeholders at all levels. Know-how of the stakeholder landscape of the foundation will be a plus 
  • Excellent communication skills as well as excellent verbal and writing  skills in English
  • Advanced and experienced user skills of Excel and Power Point
